When my mother-in-law turned 60, we wanted to have a themed birthday party in her honor. He is the toughest man we know. We continue to talk about what a soldier he is and how much he suffers every day - nothing will slow him down or stop him from showing his family!

There are tons of ways to put together a fun military party, perfect for any military member or adult who will appreciate the idea of a fun military party. It would be great for a military retirement party or even a going away party if someone is going to basic training.
We have a big family (18 of us) so we want to keep it simple and easy while coming up with fun ideas and party favors to make sure it's a military party. ! It's just a family party, so I don't need a party invitation😉
I bought most of the supplies I used for this party from Hobby Lobby or Amazon and put them all together in the house to make shopping for military supplies easy during your party planning process!
Being a very competitive family, we planned a lot of military camp activities, so we kept the decorations to a minimum and used my son's toy soldiers, tanks and other toy soldiers, along with a matching green balloon.

We asked everyone to wear a hat on that particular day, and I marked every soldier who came to "dress up!"
We've got personalized dog tags, military helmets, bandanas and even face paint for everyone in the family to bring home the camo look.
My oldest son had so much fun researching the different military positions and giving each family member an official title on the military defense signs! If you are having a military birthday party for a child, you can put military birthday party supplies in military themed bags or even plain paper bags which still look great with the theme and are a little cheaper 😉
The party was for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday, so I mixed in large 6 and 0 gold foil balloons and lots of camo latex balloons.

My mother-in-law has several "famous quotes" that she says often, so one of our great ideas is to cut out paper for the party guests to share their favorite "G-Mama quotes." The army has a title and G-Mama has famous sayings!
I used an old photo frame (which I've actually used for parties, events, and baby showers) and got some patterned ribbon to string it, along with a few small pieces of clothing. green, and while my fellow soldiers wrote what they liked best. . I can put it on the display so that the guest can read it during the ceremony. I also put all the pens and scraps of paper in a small green bucket. It was a great success and a great idea to honor the matriarch of the family!
I wanted to buy a birthday flag and I was happy to have a dictator flag to put on the fireplace. This set also comes with some additional military birthday party supplies that are perfect to match the themes of our house.
The fun of party planning makes everything come together! We hung some decorations from our kitchen light, tied some camouflage balls on the chairs, and even bought a nightgown to use as a temporary tablecloth to complete the feeling of the room. The camisole was such a hit and it was such a great buy that even I was surprised when I first saw it all!

When it comes to any kind of party, the best way to have a successful party is to have a lot of PARTY FOOD! I love doing a food theme for my parties. It's always fun to get creative with themed food names and find unique party foods that everyone will enjoy.
I avoid anything that is hard to make or takes time to put together. I am nothing more than a mother. I prefer to shop ahead as much as possible and spend time before the party setting everything up instead of stressing in the kitchen. Rice krispie treats and themed cakes from your local grocery store or bakery are even faster. 😉
I hosted this event with my in-laws and they brought a lot of party food! We planned the favorites and foods that my mother-in-law loved and focused on the party food and dessert table.

I like to keep the decorations minimal and let the holiday food speak for itself. I hung a hate flag over our dining room table, as well as some decorations hanging from our lanterns and two camo balloons on the nearby chairs.
My son had so much fun setting up his army and toys as extra decorations on the dessert table.
The gas station has a big bucket of ice and lots of soda and green glass. I got food stamps and was able to post them for free from here! However, if they aren't available, I also found these camo food stamps at an affordable price that would also work great.
My go-to party food is always super pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with sprinkles! This group was used as "Missles".
Area I Throws Party For Army Birthday
We made a non-themed cake as my mother-in-law said it was her favorite cake and we wanted her birthday cake to be HER! We put together a cake so that no one forgets our birthday 😉
Last but not least, we made the kamekame cup! I've used themed cupcakes for parties in the past, but I've learned that it's better to focus on making the cupcakes look better than spending time or money on themed cupcakes. .
For this party, I ordered cupcakes from Sam's Club in different shades of frosting. Then I sprinkled the theme on top with another soldier! I had some extra camo ribbon that I added to my cake to finish off the military camo birthday party theme!
I try to be creative with holiday themes while also making sure it's fun and easy. I want my guests to feel welcome and excited about the details, not overwhelmed. The kids had so much fun at G-Mom's birthday party and I wouldn't be surprised if we have a toy soldier birthday or military party for one of the kids soon!
